Dental Implants in DLF Phase 2, Gurgaon
Dental implants in DLF Phase 2, Gurgaon are provided at Cliniva Dental Clinic on N-12 Road, for anyone missing a single tooth, several teeth or a whole arch. An implant is a small post set into the jawbone, where it takes the place of the root. Once it has bonded with the bone it carries a crown, a bridge or a denture, so the replacement stays fixed and does not lean on the teeth next to it.

Are you suitable?
Most healthy adults with enough bone can have one. Three things need checking first:
- Bone. Bone shrinks after a tooth is lost, so a gap left for years may need grafting first.
- Gums. Active gum disease has to be treated before an implant goes in.
- General health. Uncontrolled diabetes and smoking both slow healing. Tell the doctor about these, and about any medicines you take.
The stages, in order
- Assessment. The doctor examines the area and uses imaging to measure the bone and locate the structures nearby.
- Plan. You hear how many implants are needed, which system fits, how long the work should take and what it will come to.
- Placement. The post is placed under local anaesthetic. Most people are surprised by how manageable this is, and some soreness for a few days is normal.
- Healing. Over the next few months the bone grows onto the implant. You will be given a way to manage the gap in the meantime if it shows.
- The final tooth. A connecting piece and the crown are fitted, then the bite is checked and adjusted.
Which system goes in
The clinic places Korean, Nobel Biocare and Straumann implants. The right choice depends on your bone and your budget, and it is discussed openly before you agree to anything. The work is led by Dr Sthitodhi Mukherjee, an MDS prosthodontist and implantologist.
Looking after it
An implant cannot decay, but the gum and bone around it can still become infected. Brush twice a day, clean around it with floss or an interdental brush, and keep your regular check-ups. If you grind your teeth, mention it, as heavy forces can overload the crown.

Frequently asked questions
Does getting an implant hurt?
The area is numbed, so placement itself should not be painful. Expect some tenderness and perhaps swelling for a few days afterwards, which the doctor will advise you how to manage.
Can I get a tooth fixed the same day?
Only in selected cases, and only if the bone allows it. Most implants are left to heal before the final tooth goes on.
How long do implants last?
With good cleaning and regular check-ups they can serve for many years, but no implant comes with a lifetime promise. Smoking and gum disease are the main threats.
Should I choose an implant or a bridge?
A bridge relies on the teeth either side, while an implant stands on its own. Which is better depends on those neighbouring teeth and on your bone, so ask at your assessment.
