Dental Implant Specialist in Gurgaon
Choosing a dental implant specialist in Gurgaon is mostly a question of who plans the whole tooth, not just who places the screw. At Cliniva Dental Clinic, implant work is led by Dr Sthitodhi Mukherjee, who holds a BDS and an MDS in Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge. She is a prosthodontist and implantologist with more than 12 years in practice, and the co-founder and director of the clinic.

What the word specialist should mean
Any qualified dentist in India may legally offer implants, so the title on a signboard tells you little. Prosthodontics is the postgraduate branch of dentistry concerned with replacing missing teeth. A prosthodontist starts from the finished result: where the new tooth has to sit, how it meets the teeth opposite, and how it will be cleaned. The position of the implant is then worked out backwards from that. It is a useful way round, because a post placed well in the bone can still carry a tooth that looks or bites badly.
Cases where the training counts most
- Full mouth rehabilitation, where several teeth, the bite and the jaw relationship all have to be rebuilt together
- Front teeth, where the gum line and the shape of the crown are visible every time you smile
- Replacing an old bridge or a loose denture with implant-supported teeth
- Maxillofacial prosthetics, a further part of Dr Mukherjee's practice, for people who need more than a dental replacement
Five questions to ask any implant dentist
- Who will plan my case, who will place the implant, and who will fit the crown?
- Which implant system are you suggesting, and why that one for my bone?
- Is my bone enough as it stands, or will I need grafting first?
- What happens if the implant does not integrate?
- Can I see a written plan, with every stage listed, before I agree?
A good clinician welcomes these questions. Be careful of anyone who promises a result before examining you.
What you can expect from us
Cliniva works with Korean, Nobel Biocare and Straumann implant systems. Which one suits you depends on your bone and your budget, and that conversation happens before anything starts. Because a prosthodontist is in-house, you are not passed to a visiting surgeon on one day and a different dentist on another.
Booking a consultation
Bring any recent X-rays or scans if you have them. Call +91 98103 71228 or send a WhatsApp message from this page, and ask for an implant consultation with Dr Mukherjee.

Frequently asked questions
Is a prosthodontist the same as an implantologist?
Not exactly. Prosthodontist is a recognised postgraduate specialty, focused on replacing teeth. Implantologist describes a dentist who concentrates on implants. Dr Mukherjee practises as both.
Do I need a referral to see the specialist?
No. You can book directly, and you can also come in if another dentist has told you that you need an implant and you want a second opinion.
My implant was placed elsewhere and has a problem. Can you look at it?
Yes. Bring whatever records you have, including the implant brand if you know it, as that affects what can be done with the parts.
Which implant brand is the best?
There is no single answer. The clinic offers Korean, Nobel Biocare and Straumann systems, and the choice is talked through with you once your bone has been assessed.
