Wisdom Tooth Removal in Gurgaon
Before you book wisdom tooth removal in Gurgaon, it is worth knowing that not every wisdom tooth has to go. Cliniva Dental Clinic in DLF Phase 2 removes wisdom teeth, including impacted ones, but the first job is to find out whether yours actually needs removing. An X-ray and an examination settle that, and you will be told plainly if it can stay.

Leave it, or take it out?
A wisdom tooth that has come through straight, can be cleaned and causes no trouble can usually be left alone. Removal is normally advised when:
- the gum over a half-erupted tooth keeps getting swollen and infected
- food packs in behind it and decay has started, on that tooth or on the one in front
- it is impacted, meaning it is stuck at an angle against the neighbouring tooth
- a cyst or bone damage shows on the X-ray
Pain that comes and goes is a warning, not a reason to wait. Infection around a lower wisdom tooth can flare up quickly, and it is better handled on a planned day than in the middle of the night.
What happens on the day
The area is numbed with local anaesthetic, so you should feel pressure but not pain. A tooth that has fully come through is often lifted out fairly simply. An impacted tooth takes longer: the dentist opens the gum, may divide the tooth into smaller pieces, and closes the site with a few stitches. If you are anxious, say so at the start, and each step will be explained before it happens.
The first week afterwards
- First day: bite on the gauze as told, rest with your head raised, and do not rinse, spit hard or use a straw.
- Days two and three: swelling and stiffness are usually at their most noticeable. Stick to soft, cool food and take only the medicines you were advised to take.
- From about day four: things should keep improving. Pain that suddenly worsens around this time can mean a dry socket, so call the clinic.
Avoid smoking for as long as you were told to. It is one of the commonest reasons a socket heals badly.
Getting it checked
You do not need a referral, and an existing X-ray is useful if you have one. Call +91 98103 71228 or send a WhatsApp message from this page. Mention whether you have pain or swelling now, so the visit can be planned around it.

Frequently asked questions
Should all four wisdom teeth come out together?
It depends on which of them are causing a problem and how complex each one is. Many people only need one or two removed, and the dentist will suggest what makes sense for you.
Can a wisdom tooth be removed while it is infected?
Sometimes the infection has to be calmed first. The dentist decides this after examining you, so do not start leftover antibiotics on your own.
Who does the extraction at Cliniva?
Extractions are done in-house by the clinic's dentists, Dr Rishabh Mishra and Dr Sthitodhi Mukherjee. You will be told if your case needs anything further.
How many days off work should I plan?
That depends on how difficult the tooth is. Ask at your assessment, because a simple extraction and a surgical one recover quite differently.
